My technological and literacy surf has been quite an adventure with many new incites and ideas brought about.

I have learned various new Web 2.0 tools throughout my journey, but more importantly, I have learned to effectively use them in the classroom. My students have not only used many of the websites for projects and daily activities in the classroom, but they have become much better problem-solvers. My students love this "new" way of using technology to enhance their learning and are more motivated than ever before to read and write. My journey has helped me to come to the conclusion that twenty-first century teaching should be a mix of content, pedagogy, and technology.

Additionally, my journey has shown me that just one or two teachers implementing these twenty-first century literacy skills is not enough. All teachers need to be intertwining content, pedagogy, and technology; therefore, it is important to become a teacher leader so that I can share the knowledge I have gained. I have found that being a leader isn't quite as scary as I initially thought and it can have major impacts on the way my peers view me as an educator.

Never did I realize how important global awareness is in the classroom until I came upon this "site" on my journey. The world is a global place and it is our job as teachers to help our students become globally aware. This global awareness journey has only begun in my classroom and I am extremely excited about where it is going. Next year I hope to get in have PenPals with a class somewhere else in the world. I would like to teach my students to Skype and help them become invested in the world around us!

As my literacy surf continues I am excited to see what new sites I encounter. As a leader, a learner, and a teacher, I take up upon myself to stay current and do my best to teach my students the skills they need to become successful adults in the world ahead.
