How can the technology tool, Voki, increase student fluency?

Reading fluency plays a major role in the comprehension of a text. My school uses the Dibels assessment as a predictor for reading ability.

The students in my class enjoy using technology and appear more motivated when technology is a part of the lesson. My partner and I wanted to use the most recent tool I had introduced, Voki, to increase reading fluency. Each student recorded themselves reading a passage on their independent reading level. Next, they listened to their reading, marked their own errors, and recorded the number of words they read. Lastly, they re-read the passage and aimed for less errors and more words per minute. With more repetition and practice using this strategy, we found that the Dibels score for each child increased.

Below is a movie my partner and I created to document this project.
